Most people spend their lives on a pre-paved path: finish school, get a job, get married, buy a house, climb the ladder, retire. Stability isn't the problem. The hidden cost is automated momentum — life starts happening to you instead of the other way around.
A few years ago, I stepped off. And if you've ever left the main trail, you know what's right next to it.
A bog.
Raw, unpaved uncertainty. No visible bottom. No idea how long the crossing takes. At the edge, it's genuinely terrifying in a way the paved path never prepares you for.
